Why Good Things Happen to Good People!

The Chamber hosted an enlightening & upbeat presentation on living a longer, healthier, and happier life by Stephen Post, Ph.D., author of Why Good Things Happen to Good People at its Wednesday, February 20 luncheon at the Holiday Inn.

Why Good Things Happen to Good People is a book that takes a look, scientifically, at 50 different studies across the United States at the benefits of being the giver and a generous person. It turns out after reviewing these studies, those who are generous and help others tend to be happier, healthier, and odds are will live longer.

It has been said that love cures both those who give it as well as those who receive it. Well, it turns out that science has said this to be true. We were honored to have Dr. Post join our chamber to enlighten us more about his studies, his book, and offer suggestions on how we can live happier and healthier lives.

A book signing sponsored by Joseph Beth Booksellers of Legacy Village followed the luncheon. Special thanks to Valerie Kocin of the Independence branch of the Cuyahoga County Library for being a promotion partner in this luncheon.

A beautiful desk and two chairs donated from SR Rose was raffled off for our scholarship fund. John Martin of Emerald Group Credit Union was the winner.

Prior to the presentation, Wayne Benos, past president of the chamber was honored for his past two years of work for the chamber as president.
